Description
This project aims to uncover how high spin Fe3+ mimics Ga3+, Sc3+, and In3+ are transported into bacterial cytoplasm and interact with the bacterial proteo- and metabolome. It investigates recognition and transport of M3+-metallophore complexes across bacterial membranes, studies release mechanisms of M3+ from metallophores, and determines the fate of M3+ xenometals in the bacterial cytoplasm and their influence on protein expression. The research focuses on bacterial metal ion homeostasis, transport mechanisms, and potential therapeutic applications involving xenometals.
