NIH-funded research examining how e-cigarette characteristics affect cigarette and ENDS initiation among youth and young adults, to inform public health regulation.

Description

The project will analyze longitudinal data from more than 25,000 youth and young adults ages 12–24 in the PATH Study to examine how ENDS characteristics—including device type, flavor, and nicotine concentration—relate to experimentation and established use of cigarettes and ENDS. Findings are intended to inform FDA product standards and tobacco regulation.
