Description

The proposed research aims to define the cellular biology of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) in viral proliferation. OSBP is a critical mediator in the replication of RNA pathogenic viruses, including coronaviruses. The research will explore how OSBP regulates innate antiviral responses, including mTORC1 activity, autophagy, protein translation, and RNA decay mechanisms, to develop novel antiviral strategies.
