Description

This project investigates mechanisms involved in cellular and subcellular asymmetry, biased segregation of molecules and organelles, and their contribution to binary cell fate decisions, focusing on asymmetric cell division (ACD) in Drosophila neuroblasts. The research aims to understand how cortical flows are induced and modulated to achieve sibling cell size asymmetry, and how centrosome asymmetry influences cell fate, using advanced live cell imaging, superresolution microscopy, RNA sequencing, and optogenetics.
