A NIH-funded project led by San Diego State University to improve physical activity among Latinas through enhanced programs in faith-based organizations, testing implementation and sustainment strategies over multiple years.

Description

This project aims to enhance the Faith in Action program with organizational-level strategies to increase program fit and effectiveness, and to test sustainment strategies such as strengthening community collaborations and providing technical support. A hybrid type II effectiveness-implementation trial using a clustered RCT design will be conducted across 32 faith-based organizations, with data collection at baseline, 6, 12, and 18 months. The research will provide evidence for the scale-up of evidence-based interventions in faith-based settings, aiming to increase physical activity and reduce chronic disease among underserved communities across the US.
