Identifier
2025RSS0159
The University of Calgary, located in Alberta, Canada, awarded a contract to 10X Genomics Incorporated for the purchase of a 10X Genomics Chromium X system, accessory kit with extended warranty, to be used in their Containment Level 3 (CL3) facility. The system enables multiomic readouts of gene expression, epigenetics, feature barcode technology, and CRISPR profiling within a single cell, with protocols transferable from existing systems to ensure continuity in research. The procurement was conducted as an advanced contract award with a direct award trade agreement exception, and the purchase was dispatched to the vendor's Pleasanton, California address. The procurement was managed by Melissa Innes, Senior Procurement Specialist at the University of Calgary.
Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) Containment Level 3 (CL3) facility requires a single cell sequencing system to identify heterogeneous cells within complex tissues. The plan is to purchase the 10X Genomics Chromium X system, accessory kit with extended warranty. This highly versatile multiplex (multi-sample dependent on assay type), single-cell labelling system, allows for multiomic readouts of gene expression (scRNAseq), epigenetics (scATACseq), feature barcode technology to enable simultaneous profiling of additional cell surface/intracellular proteins and CRISPR profiling within a single cell. The lab has also taken substantial amount of time to develop protocols on the current 10X Genomics Chromium systems which will be transferrable to the new system. The ability to interchange assays and data between Chromium systems is a mandatory requirement. Continuity is vital for the research to enable ongoing data comparisons and ensuring reliable research results.
