Description
This project aims to conduct a randomized clinical trial to evaluate whether antibiotic treatment of non-dysentery Shigella-associated diarrhea (NDSD) cases in children reduces morbidity, mortality, systemic and gut inflammation, and promotes growth. It also involves introducing a novel, rapid diagnostic test for Shigella suitable for endemic countries to identify patients who will benefit from antibiotics.
