Research project funded by NIDA to investigate how gestational opioid exposure affects maternal brain and behavior, microbiome, and offspring health, using rodent models and exploring potential interventions.

Description

This project studies the effects of buprenorphine compared to morphine on the maternal brain, behavior, and microbiome, as well as on the long-term health outcomes of offspring. It uses a translational rodent model to illuminate consequences of gestational opioid exposure and explores interventions to improve health outcomes for mothers and offspring.
