Description
The Clinical Core aims to expand the breadth and depth of the FHS cognitive aging and dementia data, building upon over 40 years of related data including clinical characterization, neuropsychological assessments, brain MRI, and video recordings. The project will continue longitudinal characterization of cognition and motor function, surveillance and diagnosis of MCI, dementia, ADRD, and Parkinson’s Disease, and extend brain structure analysis through repeat MRI scans. It will also support activities related to the FHS brain donation program, including recruitment, brain retrieval, and post-mortem interviews. Data will be harmonized and shared with the broader research community to inform early detection and prevention strategies for AD/ADRD.
