A research project funded by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders to study how social networks and daily interactions affect hearing aid use among older adults with hearing loss, aiming to improve hearing aid adoption and social outcomes.
Description
This NIH-funded project aims to understand the predictors of hearing aid use in daily life among older adults who own hearing aids, focusing on the influence of social networks and daily interpersonal processes. The study will enroll 300 older adults with age-related hearing loss and use longitudinal ecological momentary assessment and mobile app data to examine hearing aid use, conversation complexity, and social ties over time.
