Description

This project investigates the role of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in exercise intolerance in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). It focuses on the dysfunction of skeletal muscle metabolism and perfusion as primary drivers of exercise intolerance, examining the roles of enzymes CSE and 3-MST in endothelium and skeletal muscle, mitochondrial H2S in muscle function, and testing mitochondrial-targeted H2S therapy.
