Description
The Administrative Core of the Center of Excellence (CoE) serves as an organizational hub, providing leadership and coordinating the activities of various cores and research projects within the IID modeling community. Led by experts in immunology, the Core ensures the fulfillment of the CoE's goals of driving research innovation, bridging models at different scales, and coordinating multiscale modeling research. Responsibilities include organizational, administrative, and scientific leadership, fiscal management, promoting integration, administering the Opportunity Fund, and developing strategic plans for disease outbreak response. The Core oversees administrative procedures, regulatory compliance, communications, and scientific activities, manages the CoE budget, and coordinates with advisory committees and NIAID. It facilitates resource dissemination, conducts regular meetings, training sessions, and organizes retreats. It disburses Opportunity Funds to foster innovation, develops informatics infrastructure to advance FAIR principles, leverages generative AI, and supports community engagement through webinars, mentorship, and conferences. Overall, it provides leadership and coordination to create multiscale modeling communities, democratize data access, improve model reusability, develop bridging frameworks, and train future researchers.
