Description
This study will adapt the CDC 'best evidence' intervention IMARA for Zambian adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), called ZAIMARA, and evaluate its effectiveness and implementation in Lusaka, Zambia. The study aims to tailor IMARA to ZAIMARA, compare ZAIMARA versus health promotion on HIV testing, STIs, PrEP, and sexual behavior, assess mental health screening impact on peer leader retention, and evaluate implementation outcomes. The project involves a randomized controlled trial with 600 AGYW-mother dyads and 60 peer leaders, focusing on HIV prevention, testing, PrEP uptake, and sexual health education.
