The award supports research on CC-90009 as a potential therapy for cystic fibrosis, focusing on rescuing PTC-CFTR variants and reducing ENaC activity to improve lung function in CF patients.

Description

This project investigates the therapeutic potential of CC-90009, a thalidomide derivative drug, for treating cystic fibrosis (CF) by promoting ribosomal readthrough to rescue premature termination codon (PTC) CFTR variants and reducing epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) activity. The research aims to improve defective mucociliary transport in CF and other muco-obstructive lung diseases through preclinical models.
