A clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of phage therapy for recurrent urinary tract infections in female kidney transplant recipients.

Description

This project aims to study phage therapy for recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTI) in female kidney transplant recipients (KTR). It involves a randomized phase I/II pilot clinical trial comparing targeted phage therapy versus placebo in asymptomatic female KTR with a history of rUTI due to Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The study will assess safety, tolerability, feasibility, efficacy, and microbiome changes over 180 days.
