Award to Washington University for an eight-week summer undergraduate research program focused on aging and neurologic diseases, providing mentored research experience and professional development to students.

Description

The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Aging and Neurologic Diseases at Washington University recruits undergraduate students with limited prior research experience from a range of disciplinary backgrounds for an eight-week introduction to research on the prevention and treatment of neurologic disorders in older adults. Students join a laboratory focused on one of three neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or dementia) for a closely mentored research experience. They also gather together for lectures, discussions, field trips, and professional development seminars to nurture their knowledge, skills, professional identity, and momentum as scholars.
