Description

This project aims to explore therapeutic strategies to enhance muscle recovery in aging Veterans post-hospitalization, focusing on metabolic rejuvenation using AdipoRon. The study will determine if AdipoRon can accelerate recovery from disuse muscle atrophy in aged mice by stimulating skeletal muscle mitochondria and defining the impact on muscle atrophy and recovery across life phases. The research includes in vivo and ex vivo assessments of muscle function, composition, metabolism, and systemic indices, using molecular approaches such as transcriptomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics.
