A research project funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to study genetic and ecological factors in PTSD and AUD comorbidity using advanced assessment and genetic techniques.

Description

This project aims to investigate the genetic and phenotypic factors underlying the co-occurrence of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among high-risk inner-city populations. The study will employ ecological momentary assessment (EMA), genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and advanced genetic modeling (gSEM) to elucidate risk factors and inform prevention and intervention strategies.
