Description
This project aims to elucidate the role of hepatic glucokinase activity in glucose effectiveness (GE), which is the ability of glucose to self-normalize independently of insulin response. The research involves glucose clamp studies, liver biopsies, and computer modeling to assess the activity of glucokinase and its regulatory proteins, and how these relate to GE in models of metabolic dysfunction such as obesity and prediabetes.
