This award funds a clinical trial to evaluate a physical activity intervention aimed at improving recovery and long-term outcomes after lumbar spine surgery through a mind-body approach and wearable technology feedback.
Description
A fully remote two-group randomized controlled trial at three high-volume medical centers in the Southeast, Northeast, and Pacific Northwest regions of the US to test a mind-body physical activity intervention (PASS) to improve long-term outcomes after lumbar spine surgery. The intervention includes 8 weekly sessions delivered by a physical therapist using a web-based platform, compared to standard care physical activity education.
