The University of Missouri Comparative Medicine Program provides comprehensive research training for veterinarians, aiming to produce independent scientists in the field. Facilities include a National Mutant Mouse Resource Center, National Rat and Swine Resource Centers, Metagenomics and Metabolomics Centers, and BL3-biocontainment labs. Funds support four trainees over three years, culminating in a PhD dissertation, preparing them for leadership roles in comparative medicine.
