Description
This project aims to identify and validate biological sub-phenotypes of sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) to enable a precision medicine approach for better clinical outcomes. Sepsis-induced AKI is associated with prolonged hospitalization, need for renal replacement therapy, and death. The project will determine whether distinct AKI sub-phenotypes are present in the emergency room, their response to intravenous fluids, and differences in kidney histopathology and urinary proteomics.
