Description
This project aims to identify prefrontal and hippocampal circuits subject to plasticity during adolescence and define how those changes support normal behavioral transitions into adulthood. It investigates the refinement of excitation-inhibition balance in the prefrontal cortex and ventral hippocampus and their roles in cognitive and social behavior maturation, using shRNA interference to partially deplete parvalbumin in these brain regions during adolescence.
