Description

This NIH research grant project aims to develop a widely applicable treatment strategy for transcriptional reprogramming and loss of cell viability for many types of lymphoid leukemic cells. The approach involves pharmacological inhibition of the H3K27me3 histone methyltransferases EZH1/EZH2 to create a de-condensed chromatin structure, followed by activation of endogenous inducible transcription factors to induce cell differentiation and apoptosis, potentially eliminating leukemic cells.
