The California Department of Health Care Services Mental Health Services Division purchased training services for its Department of Mental Health (DMH) employees from ICAN ASSOCIATES. Description

20th Annual ICAN Grief and Loss Conference ICAN Associates will provide Department of Mental Health (DMH's) employees the rate of $120 per registrant. This will cover 30 slots with Department of Mental Health paying $90/employee and employees paying the remaining $30 towards their registrations. The total Department of Mental Health contribution will be up to $2700. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Provide aid to families recovering from a traumatic death or loss 2. Respond in a culturally sensitive manner to grief and loss 3. Implement age-appropriate techniques and interventions to support trauma affected children. 4. Explain the types of support assistance youth require for unresolved grief, loss and trauma 5. Assist families and caregivers with accessing meaningful supportive services (including mental health) to assist children who are coping with traumatic grief DELIVERABLES: The Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN) and ICAN Associates will host the 20th Annual Childhood Grief and Traumatic Loss. Participants will have a choice on which trainings they can attend. Date(s): On or after March 25th, 2026 Materials: All copies of training materials are to be furnished by the vendor. Length: Training will be scheduled from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Participants: 30 DMH mental health clinicians, such as psychologists, social workers, MFTs, nurses, case managers and peer specialists.
