An orphan well in Henderson County is leaking H2S gas. This well has a H2S concentration of 326,200 ppm on the H-9 form. The roe for this well is 3,092 feet for 100 ppm and 1,413 feet for 500 ppm. There are over 25 residences, 3 ponds, 4 country roads, and livestock within the 100-ppm area. Requesting emergency funds to plug this well. The district office in Henderson contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services, safety equipment, and the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
