Description
This project investigates whether alveolar epithelial cells utilize a growth factor signaling pathway to maintain lung integrity and regenerate lungs after acute lung injury, aiming to develop novel therapies for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The research involves transgenic mouse models, iPSC-derived alveolar epithelial cells, molecular biology techniques, and quantitative imaging. Training is provided in Dr. Rachel Zemans’ lab at the University of Michigan.
