Description
The project aims to identify unmet needs that drive Black and Latino persons living with dementia (PLWD) to experience potentially avoidable nursing home (NH) placements at greater rates than their White counterparts. Using an exploratory sequential mixed methods research design, the study will develop and validate an assessment instrument called IN-HOME (Identifying Needs to Help Older Adults Maintain Everyday community living). The research will inform policy development to reduce disparities in NH placements and support aging in place for vulnerable populations.
