This NIH-funded research project focuses on rejuvenating aged hematopoietic stem cells by enhancing Netrin-1 signaling to restore bone marrow niche function and improve blood system health in aging individuals.

Description

The project aims to test whether enhancing the signaling pathway of Netrin-1 (NTN1) can restore the functional capacity of the aging blood system by rejuvenating hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). It will elucidate cellular and molecular mechanisms by which aging of the bone marrow (BM) niche contributes to HSC decline and validate NTN1 as a therapeutic target.
