Description
The project aims to test the potential benefits of an intestinal health-targeted nutritional intervention combined with caregiver training on child neurodevelopment in rural Guatemala. It involves a randomized controlled trial with 400 mother-infant dyads divided into four groups: nutritional supplementation with “Frijolatole Plus,” caregiver intervention, both, or active control. The primary outcome is neurodevelopment at 24 months, assessed by the Mullen Scales of Early Learning. The study also contributes to the development of WHO’s Global Scales of Early Development and builds local research capacity.
