Description

This project aims to study the roles of myeloid receptors Trem1 and Trem2 in the immune response to glioblastoma (GBM) using a novel genetically accurate mouse model. The research involves conditional gene elimination in myeloid cells to evaluate their potential as therapeutic targets. GBM is an incurable primary malignant brain cancer characterized by high heterogeneity, short median survival, and lack of effective treatments. The tumor microenvironment is highly immunosuppressive, contributing to rapid growth and resistance to therapy.
