Description

The Community Engagement Core (CEC) supports the Harvard Chan-NIEHS Center for Environmental Health by facilitating multi-directional communication among Center members, communities, and stakeholders to address critical environmental public health challenges. It connects investigators with community members, health professionals, and decision makers to advance environmental health assessment, prevention, and intervention development through Community Science. The CEC aims to enhance networks, conduct collaborative community science, and foster training in community-engaged environmental health research, utilizing a curriculum co-developed with community organizations. It supports community projects through funding mechanisms including Community Action Grants, Facility Access Funds, and Pilot Projects, and increases community representation in the Stakeholder Advisory Board.
