Description
This study aims to investigate the progression of postpartum prediabetes and type 2 diabetes in women with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), focusing on the impact of HIV. The study will follow 180 women (60 with HIV and 120 without HIV) over 2 years, testing for prediabetes and T2DM at five timepoints. It hypothesizes that women with HIV will have a higher hazard of progression and a greater decline in pancreatic beta cell function.
