Award to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for research on tumor dormancy mechanisms in the brain to prevent breast cancer metastasis, funded by the National Cancer Institute.
Description
This project explores how dormant disseminated tumor cells reshape the brain microenvironment to establish a niche via the apolipoprotein CLU, influencing tumor survival and metastasis. It aims to identify targets to prevent breast cancer brain metastasis using high-resolution imaging, spatial transcriptomics, human 3D brain models, and mouse models.
