This award funds the Innovation Design and Implementation Science (IDIS) Core at the University of Chicago, which supports translational research to improve diabetes prevention, treatment, and management by enhancing innovation design and implementation science capabilities among researchers. The core provides resources, consultations, and collaborative support to increase the adoption and impact of evidence-based diabetes innovations in clinical and community settings.
Description
The IDIS Core will provide CDTR members with resources, services, and technical assistance to increase their capacity to design and carry out translational innovation studies and to evaluate implementation factors, strategies, and outcomes. It aims to connect members with supports and resources to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills in innovation design and implementation science, provide methodological consultations and design studios, and offer curated resources and collaborative team building to support use of implementation science methods and frameworks. The project leverages strengths of the University of Chicago and Northwestern University to accelerate and increase the impact of diabetes translational research.
