Description
This project aims to develop novel methods for estimating the population size of people who inject drugs (PWID) overall and by age in 11 large U.S. cities, measure PWID risk for overdose death and infectious diseases, predict PWID prevalence at unmeasured locations within cities, map predicted PWID density alongside service locations, and disseminate findings via AIDSVu and HepVu platforms. The project addresses the need for updated local PWID population size estimates to inform public health interventions and resource allocation.
