Research project to understand Polycomb group complexes' role in embryonic development and their link to birth defects and cancers by studying chromatin mechanisms in early Drosophila embryos.
Description
This research investigates how cells use chromatin-based mechanisms to make and maintain correct developmental decisions. By defining how Polycomb repression spreads and is reversed, this work will generate predictive principles relevant to human birth defects and cancers linked to Polycomb dysfunction.
