Indigenous Strengths as Solutions in a Public Health Crisis (Project ISH)

This award funds research to address drug overdose, substance use, and pain management in Coast Salish communities by identifying recovery resources, supporting Tribal health services, and developing culturally-grounded interventions.

Description

Our proposed goals and activities will continue to advance research to address drug overdose, substance use, or pain management in our local Coast Salish communities in the following key ways: 1) by identifying community resources for recovery, healing and wellness from substance use disorders; 2) consolidating data supporting the efficacy of Tribal health services and Coast Salish sources of strengths; and 3) developing culturally-grounded interventions to prevent risk for SUD/OUD and to increase recovery success for individuals in on a healing path.
