Development of a high-sensitivity MagLev system to detect heterogeneity in protein corona composition on nanoparticles, improving nanomedicine applications.

Description

The project aims to develop a highly sensitive magnetic levitation (MagLev) system to probe small variations in the protein corona (PC) composition on nanoparticles (NPs). Current approaches lack sufficient resolution to distinguish heterogeneity in PC composition, which impacts clinical translation of nanomaterials. The research will enhance MagLev resolution by 1 to 3 orders of magnitude, enabling separation of PC-coated NPs with different protein coverages and compositions, addressing a critical factor in nanomedicine failures.
