Description
This project studies how a type of white blood cell (CD8 T cell) and a protein called a granzyme can activate an inflammatory pathway (called the complement pathway) which drives inflammation and joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis. The research aims to define a new pathway of complement activation mediated by lymphocyte-derived GzmK, and its role in inflammatory fibroblast activation and joint pathology, providing insights into RA immunopathology and potential therapeutic targets.
