NIH grant awarded to University of Virginia to study the role of T-Type calcium channels in glioblastoma tumor microenvironment and develop new therapies.

Description

This research will investigate the mechanisms by which Cav3 channels influence glioblastoma growth and microenvironment interactions. The study will utilize co-cultures, animal models with cell-specific Cav3.2 knockouts, and advanced transcriptomic analyses. Therapeutic strategies combining Cav3 blockers with other inhibitors will be tested in mouse models.
