Description
This project investigates how propionate metabolism, particularly methylmalonic acid (MMA), influences epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer progression. The research aims to define regulation mechanisms of MMA in cancer, its role in activating cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and how CAFs promote tumor metastasis. The ultimate goal is to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for metastatic cancer.
