A community-based project to integrate maternal-child health and nutrition interventions to reduce food insecurity and improve health outcomes in vulnerable communities in the Southwest US.

Description

This project uses a community-based participatory approach to promote the maternal-child component of an existing comprehensive social intervention to promote population health in five economically vulnerable communities in the Southwest US. It aims to co-create and implement a system-level intervention to integrate maternal-child health and nutrition, reducing food insecurity and its health consequences for maternal-child dyads. The project will assess the effectiveness of this intervention in decreasing food insecurity and improving health outcomes for pregnant women and children under 3.
