The award funds research to map and modulate endothelial dysfunction in peri-implantitis, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting dental implants, using spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and AI to identify therapeutic targets and test pharmacologic interventions.

Description

This project aims to understand and treat peri-implantitis by targeting vascular endothelial dysfunction and NAD⁺ metabolism, utilizing advanced spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and AI tools. The project will construct a spatially resolved, multimodal atlas of peri-implantitis vasculopathy and functionally assess CD38⁺ vascular endothelial cells isolated from peri-implantitis lesions to test pharmacologic interventions.
