A randomized controlled trial funded by NIH to evaluate a behavioral sleep intervention for adolescents with depression and evening circadian preference, aiming to improve depression outcomes by targeting circadian rhythm.

Description

This project involves a confirmatory efficacy trial to test the hypothesis that improving the relationship between biological circadian timing and waketime can improve depression outcomes in adolescents with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and evening circadian preference (ECP). The study will be a randomized controlled trial with 200 adolescents, comparing a behavioral sleep intervention (TranS-C) to psychoeducation. The project is funded by the NIH and is scheduled for a fiscal year 2026-2027.
