Description
This project aims to test the effects of microbiota transplant from human donors with varying levels of Lachnospiraceae and Ruminococcaceae on ethanol drinking, FMT engraftment, and anxiety-like behavior in mice. Additionally, the role of dietary fiber in enhancing microbiome engraftment and further reducing ethanol consumption will be evaluated. The study combines clinical and preclinical approaches to understand mechanisms through which gut microbiota can influence alcohol intake and related phenotypes.
