A research project funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to study prenatal factors and their association with neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders, using maternal oxidative stress biomarkers in a large birth cohort.
Description
This study aims to identify prenatal risk factors, including markers of maternal oxidative stress, in schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders in a large national birth cohort. It evaluates maternal biomarkers of oxidative stress in relation to schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders in offspring, using a large Finnish cohort, to improve understanding of prenatal risk factors and potential prevention strategies.
