Description

This project aims to utilize large-scale genomic data and analytic strategies in up to 1.6 million people to identify genes and pathways that contribute to obesity and cardiometabolic risk, focusing on the heterogeneity of obesity and its genetic underpinnings. The study will expand discovery of MHO variants, conduct multi-trait and multi-ancestry GWAS in 1.3 million individuals, and implement multi-omic approaches to prioritize candidate genes. It will also perform exome-wide searches for rare variants in 1.6 million individuals and functionally characterize candidate genes using CRISPRi experiments.
