Award to Cereus Diagnostics Corp. to validate and develop Lung-FAST, a rapid PCR-based test for lung cancer mutations, enabling FDA submission and expanding testing capabilities. The project addresses the issue of small biopsies unsuitable for standard sequencing, aiming to benefit 80,000 patients annually.

### Description

Determining genetic mutations in lung cancer is critical for early, targeted therapeutic intervention, but 1 in 3 biopsies are too small for standard next generation sequencing. Cereus Diagnostics has developed Lung-FAST, a rapid, cost-effective PCR-based test that detects clinically actionable mutations such as EGFR, KRAS, ALK, MET, and RET. The project aims to validate and develop Lung-FAST into a clinical-grade kit, enabling FDA submission and expanding lung cancer testing capabilities.
