Vending Machine Equipment

The government buyer is Salisbury University, a constituent institution of the University System of Maryland, located in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland. The Procurement Department at Salisbury University is the issuing office, with Cathy Horn as the Procurement Officer representative. The contract is for providing vending snack machine services on the Salisbury University campus, including all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, product, transportation expenses, and other necessities to perform the contract. The current contractor operates 25 vending machines with approximately $100,000 in gross snack vending sales. The awarded vendor must provide new or like-new vending machines with the latest technology, including bill and credit card readers at their own expense. Machines should display products clearly and may incorporate the University logo and colors with prior approval. The vendor is responsible for stocking machines regularly, maintaining equipment in proper working order, removing trash, and providing additional machines as new buildings come online. The vendor must comply with health department licensing if complex vending machines with potentially hazardous foods are installed. Products offered must be fresh, sealed, premium quality, and approved by the University, with an emphasis on healthy and local options. The contract term is five years with one five-year renewal option, starting August 1, 2025, and ending August 1, 2030. The vendor will pay the University a monthly guaranteed commission and/or percentage-based commission, with monthly sales reports required. The University provides electricity, telephone/data lines, and adequate heating/cooling for the machines but does not provide storage space or pay for utilities or rent. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond. The place of performance is Salisbury University campus, 1101 Camden Ave, Salisbury, MD 21801, Wicomico County, Maryland. Unique contract requirements include compliance with Maryland IT Non-Visual Access Standards, adherence to University parking and smoking policies, and coordination with the current contractor to avoid service interruption during installation.

Description

This RFP is for non-beverage vending machines on the campus of Salisbury University. The current Contractor employs 25 vending machines on campus. The successful proposer will provide the service in a turn-key manner and provide all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, product, transportation expenses and/or other necessities to perform the contract.
